Welcome to Marden Village Club
|The village of Marden is situated in the Weald of Kent about eight miles south of the County Town of Maidstone. The village club is located in the centre of the village adjacent to the two small wooden buildings which served as the village court room and prison long before the locals had any thought of a village club. These two buildings, which are now a green grocers shop, are situated on the junction of Howland Road and Albion Road.
Marden Village Club offers two full size snooker tables, pool and darts, and there is regular live entertainment to enjoy throughout the year. We offer drinks at competitive "club" prices, and with the recently installed entertainment system there will be regular entertainment evenings additional to the advertised list of functions. Our friendly bar staff always extend a warm welcome to members and visitors alike.
Marden Village Club is affiliated to the Kent Association of Working Men's Clubs and Institutes, and members from those affiliated clubs can use the facilities at Marden.
Our snooker teams compete in the Maidstone Snooker league and our darts teams play in the MIKEN darts league, and there are annual club competitions for members to enter with a presentation evening in May. Additional to this the Kent Association organises regular competitions both in the winter and summer. There is of course "big screen" Sky TV for the sports enthusiast to watch their favorite sport with friends whilst enjoying a drink from our comprehensive choice of beer's and lager's.
Marden Village Club is also the social base for Marden Bowls Club, Blue House Cricket Club and the Marden Football Clubs. The Bowls Club is situated just across the road from the village club and offers bowling on a first class green.
Membership is open for the Village Club with a joining fee of just £10 and an annual subscription of £10.
